Effective Date: 11/09/2025

This document has been translated into English for reference purposes only. In case of any conflict between the English and Korean versions, the Korean version shall take precedence.

This Acceptable Use Policy (hereinafter referred to as "AUP") defines the acceptable and prohibited activities related to the use of PacketStream's (hereinafter referred to as "the Company" or "we") network and services.

By using our services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to comply with this AUP.

1. Compliance with Policy

Customers must fully comply with the Terms of Service and this Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) when using PacketStream's services.

If you plan to operate a service that may potentially violate this AUP, you must contact PacketStream in advance to verify compliance.

Violation of this policy may result in enforcement actions including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Temporary suspension of services
  • Permanent termination of services
  • Any other actions deemed necessary to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure

2. Prohibited Activities

Our services may not be used for any activities that are illegal, infringe on the rights of others, or cause harm to the Company or third parties. The following activities are strictly prohibited under this AUP:

  • Storing or distributing child pornography, obscene materials, or illegal/copyright-infringing content
  • Creating or spreading malicious code, including viruses, worms, and trojans
  • Performing unauthorized port scanning, security scanning, or brute-force attacks
  • Engaging in IP spoofing, phishing, spamming, or identity theft
  • Conducting, supporting, or promoting DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) or DoS attacks
  • Operating VPN, Proxy, Tunnel for DDoS Mitigation Purpose, or Tor Relay/Exit/Bridge nodes
  • Conducting unauthorized cryptocurrency (virtual asset) mining
  • Running mailing servers, IRC servers, torrents, or other high-traffic-generating services
  • Engaging in activities that promote or involve violence, hate, terrorism, racism, illegal gambling, drug trafficking, or other acts that disturb public order

3. Blacklist and Spam Policy

Any use of our resources (IP addresses, domains, etc.) that results in being listed on external blacklists (e.g., Spamhaus) or being used for spam-related activities is strictly prohibited. Activities such as spam mailing, operating illegal mailing lists, or causing blacklist registration will be considered violations of this AUP.

4. Resource Usage Policy

For products and services based on shared resources such as virtual servers, the following restrictions apply to ensure the best performance for all customers. Any usage pattern that significantly degrades the overall performance of the server is prohibited.

CPU Usage Policy

PacketStream generally allows customers to use 100% of their allocated CPU cores. However, if CPU utilization remains at 100% for an extended period, appropriate throttling measures may be applied.

I/O Usage Policy

PacketStream generally allows customers to use 100% of their allocated Disk I/O performance. However, if Disk I/O utilization remains at 100% for an extended period, appropriate throttling measures may be applied.

The above examples are provided to outline general usage limitations for shared-resource-based services. Most customers do not exceed these limits, but if excessive resource usage is expected, we strongly recommend contacting our technical team in advance for review.

5. Mailing and IRC

PacketStream prohibits the operation of mailing and IRC services on its network.

However, certified corporate customers may be permitted to operate legitimate mail servers for non-marketing purposes. Such exceptions require prior approval from our sales and technical teams.

6. DDoS Service Policy

Prohibition on DDoS Filtering and Related Services

Customers shall not use PacketStream's services to operate, provide, or resell any independent DDoS filtering, DDoS mitigation, traffic scrubbing, reverse proxy, or GRE tunnel–based protection services for third parties.

The DDoS protection provided by PacketStream may only be used to protect the customer's own services that operate within PacketStream's assigned IP resources and infrastructure.

Measures for Excessive DDoS Traffic

If PacketStream reasonably determines that a customer is in any of the following situations, the company may take necessary actions to protect network stability and integrity:

  • When a customer becomes the target of continuous or excessive DDoS attacks that affect PacketStream's network or other customers' services.

In such cases, PacketStream may take the following actions:

  • Temporarily disable or block the affected service or IP address to protect the overall infrastructure and other customers' services.
  • If the attacks persist or recur, terminate the affected service upon prior written notice.

7. Legal Compliance

Users must comply with all applicable national and international laws and regulations, including but not limited to data protection laws, copyright laws, and anti-spam regulations, when using PacketStream's services.
